Thomas Hayward Dickerson Jr

With heavy hearts we announce the death of Thomas H. Dickerson, Jr. who passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on December 4, 2022, in Renton, WA.

He was born on January 18, 1942, in Austin, TX to Thomas H. Dickerson and Adelene L. Dickerson. The family moved to Bremerton, WA in 1945. Thomas later graduated from Central Kitsap High School.

Thomas started his career in the United States Air Force, where he dedicated 20 years of his life to his country and served in the Vietnam War. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked for the United States Postal Service, where he later retired after 28 years.

On his days and into retirement, Thomas would surround himself with family and friends, who he considered family. He loved to watch his kids and grandchildren compete in their sports and sit outside to enjoy the sun. Another pastime for him was watching his favorite football team, the Seattle Seahawks.

Thomas was preceded in death by his mother, father, and sisters (Alice Elaine, Roma Sue, Phyllis) his ex-wife Norma, who he still had a familial relationship with, his children (Darnel, Charline, Suzette, and Adelene), grandchildren (Darnel Jr, Danisha, Johnathan, Javien, Daylen, Dylan, and Natalie), great grandchildren (Mariah, Kylo, and Harper), his sister (Pearl), brothers (John Ricky and Darrell), and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Fairwood Community Methodist Church – 15255 Fairwood Blvd, Renton, WA 98058. The burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery – 100 Blaine Ave NE, Renton, WA 98056 and we will end with the Repass at DeLancey’s on 3rd – 810 S 3rd St, Renton, WA 98057.
