Rosemary O’Reilly died on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at Evergreen Hospice Care Center in Kirkland, Washington, of complications of COPD. She was 93. Rosemary was born on December 8, 1925, in Los Angeles, California. In 1945 she married Jim O’Reilly and they moved to the Alaska wilderness. She learned to shoot there and won several rifle competitions. She also had her own pool cue and shot a mean game of 8 ball. Together, she and Jim had 3 sons, Michael, Danny, and Kelly. Rosemary was proud of the fact that she always had a job—from baby sitting as a young girl to office work, to working in a crab cannery, to teaching Sunday school, to working in the school cafeteria, she was willing to take on any job and do it well. She retired from the Boeing Company after many years of building airplanes in the Renton plant. In her retirement years, Rosemary enjoyed line dancing and tai chi, and she would always stop to pet any dog she saw. Always a positive person, Rosemary was friendly with everyone and loved being around people. She will be greatly missed. Rosemary was predeceased by her husband Jim in 1992, and her brothers, Hal and Gene. She is survived by her sons Michael (and Sarah), Danny (and Sarah) and Kelly, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. A private graveside service will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Renton, Washington.
