Obituary

September 13, 1969 to November 13, 2022. Michael John Potter was 53 years old when he passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, Washington. Michael was born at Valley Medical Center and was raised in Renton, Washington. As a child he gave his life to Jesus. He was interested in reading everything and very good at math. He loved working with computers, writing short stories and music of any kind. His piano lessons for much of his teenage years brought joy to all in the household as he practiced daily. He also loved Disneyland and visited many times. Michael was able to visit Disneyworld while living in Zephyr Hills, Florida. Michael trained in the army and had a soft spot for the homeless. He would feed them and find out what they needed. He volunteered at the Union Gospel Mission in Seattle for years. One of his favorite times was serving Thanksgiving meals with his mom. Michael graduated for Bellevue Christian and Northwest College in preparation for serving in the ministry. His love of others led his to tell others about God's saving grace and redemption whenever he had opportunity. He knew when he closed his eyes for the last time he would wake up in the presence of Jesus in heaven.

He leaves behind his mother, Nance Jean Smith-Potter, grandmother, Nancy W. Smith, uncle, John Smith, Mike Smith, and many cousins, nieces and extended family. "You and your sweet smile will be missed by all our dear Michael and we look forward to joining you in heaven."
