MariaTeresa P Mergner

MariaTeresa P. Mergner passed away peacefully at Regency Nursing Center in North Bend, WA on November 21, 2020 @ 10:00 am.  She had been fighting the Covid 19 virus for 10 day and could not fight any longer.

She was born on Nov. 3, 1927 in San Antonio Texas to Luis and Luisa (Gutierrez) Pliego.

After completing high school and some college, she went on to work in the finance and accounting dept. at Fort Sam Houston.  This is where she met Alfred P Mergner who was serving in the US Army. They fell in love and got married on November 15, 1958. MariaTeresa and Alfred only had a son, Dean Andrew Mergner born on April 25, 1963. MariaTeresa and Alfred were married 19 years and then divorced. 

She continued her career in accounting, finance, and secretarial.  MariaTeresa loved to cook and was quite good at it.  She loved to camp in her earlier years.  She loved to travel and read.  She read a lot in her later years.  She loved to worship Jesus and fellowship with people about Jesus.  She really loved her Lord, he loved her too and helped her through many physical challenges as she lived through her 93 years of life.

Her only sister, Alice Garza preceded her in death. Her brother in law, Ike Garza also preceded her in death.

MariaTeresa is survived by her son Dean Andrew Mergner and his wife Vicki Kay Mergner both from Renton, WA.

She is survived by numerous members of the Garza family in Texas and numerous members of the Mergner family in Germany.

She is very much loved and missed.  Rest in the Peace of Jesus, MariaTeresa!
