Mabel Johanna Bobek

Mabel Johanna Linde Bobek passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at the age of 95.
Mabel was born on 26 Aug. 1924 in Seattle, WA, the only child of Edwin and Amanda Linde.  She married William Bobek on July 20, 1946 and was the mother of three children: Barbara, Rick and Nancy. At the time of her passing she had 6 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.  Mabel worked for Universal Carloading, retiring after 33 years of service to open a yarn store with her daughter. Together they operated Nancy’s Knits for 23 years.  She spent many happy hours with knitting needles in hand making everything from baby booties to blankets and sweaters. Some she gave to her grandchildren and friends and others she donated to worthy charities. She also loved baking, especially Christmas cookies, as well as spoiling her grandchildren and spending time at their property on Hood Canal. She is survived by her son, Rick Bobek.
