Glen Wong Obituary

Glen Wong, life-long resident of Seattle and Renton, Washington, unexpectedly was called home to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, January 22, 2023.  He was living in a rehabilitation facility in Renton where he was recovering from a stroke.

Glen was born in Seattle, Washington on August 1, 1960 to Richard and Florence Wong.  After receiving his diploma from Rainier Beach High School, Glen attended Bellevue Community College where he received his Technician Certificate in Media Broadcasting in 1982, and attended the University of Washington graduating with a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 1984.  He worked at the Boeing Company in the Commercial Airline Engineering program and later in the Military Defense Program.  He then reunited with an old boss he had in college and worked for Chooch Enterprises Inc., a model hobby and gift business as its primary manufacturing engineer.  Most recently, Glen worked for Children’s Hospital and Aegis Living.

Glen enjoyed playing, coaching (youth) and watching basketball.  His favorite teams were the Seattle Supersonics and his daughters’ youth basketball teams.  He was a boy scout and eventually volunteered several years as one of the Scoutmasters of BSA troop 254 in Seattle which was established in 1923.  Glen professed to be a follower of Jesus Christ and attended the Seattle Chinese Alliance Church for many years.  In those years, his service included audio visual, music ensembles, youth counselor, adult group staff, basketball outreach, worship leader and other ministries.  More recently, Glen attended Highlands Community Church until 2017.  Glen also enjoyed photography, videography, fishing, collecting sports cards and car models, and UW Husky football and basketball.

Glen is now ‘safe in the arms of Jesus’ in heaven.  Our family is looking forward to reuniting with Glen once again because of Jesus Christ who is preparing a place for each of His children.  His promises are true for all who believe and receive Him as Savior and Lord!

Glen is survived by his wife - Tessie Wong, daughters:  Keira Wong and Courtney Wong;  mother:  Florence Wong; brothers:  Roland Wong (Judy), Dennis Wong (Jane) and Dale Wong; nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.  Glen was preceded in death by his father, Richard, in 2010.
