Frank Aliment Obituary

In the passing of Bob Aliment, we lost our father, grandfather, great grandfather, an ambassador to golf and a true friend.

Frank Robert “Bob” Aliment was born in Renton, Washington on March 13, 1931 and left us peacefully on October 7, 2019. A wonderful life of 88 years as father and friend to so many. Bob was accepted into the PGA in 1961 as a Golf Professional and has earned that status of “Half a Century Gold Member.” An accomplishment held by few…..

Bob was the head Golf Professional and part owner of Maplewood Golf Course in Renton from 1961 to 1985. His partners sold the golf course in 1985 to the city of Renton only under the condition that it remains a golf course for our community to enjoy for many years. Our family extends our appreciation to the City of Renton for maturing the course and for their kindness through the years to our dad.

Maplewood was founded by our grandfather, Frank Aliment, and four partners in 1927. Three generationS of many great times, employment and memories. Dad was always quick with a story and never short of jokes to share. Just one of the many memories of his character that we will all miss but will not forget.

Bob was married, Joyce Aliment, our mom and friend to many for 51 years. He/we lost her in 2005. They were both very involved in golf and the love of family and friends. We were all truly blessed to have them both in our lives. “You can take away the person but the memories are for us to cherish forever.”

Alvina Metzger entered Bob’s life in 2010. She was a caring and cherished partner. For this, we are all so very grateful. Alvina is a wonderful woman who will continue to stay connected in our hearts as well as to our family. We thank Alvina for the friendship and love she showed our father as well as the joy she has brought to our entire family.

Bob is lovingly survived by his four children, Bob (Patty) Aliment, Larry (Mary) Ailment, Jeff (Victoria) Aliment and Carrie Aliment. Grandfather to Jeremy (Becky) Aliment, Josh (Tanya) Aliment, Stephanie (Sean) Clement, Tyler Aliment and Tanner Wiggins. Great grandfather to Michael Aliment, Jersey Clement and Carson Clement.  Bob is also survived by his cherished partner Alvina Metzger.

As he said in his final hours –

“Will see each other again. At a different place and at a different time….. How lucky were we all to have Bob Aliment in our lives. A legacy that will be missed but never forgotten.
