Veronica Monastrial Obituary

Veronica, who was known as Violy to her friends and family, and Grandma V to her grandchildren, was born in Quezon City, Philippines on May 22, 1941. In 1980, she, along with her children, migrated to the United States of America. She worked different jobs including restaurant aide, teaching assistant, and caregiver. She was a favorite babysitter to her grandchildren and many nephews, nieces.

She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour in the mid 1980’s and served for a time as the secretary of the Filipino Bible Baptist Church in San Diego, CA. The Lord gave her the gift to play piano by ear and often played piano in church and different community outreach ministries. She also was often asked to play for special occasions such as weddings and birthday events. She loved to sing, though she could not carry a tune.

She boldly talked about her faith, and although not perfect and often failed, she tried to live her faith. She might be mad at you, but she was there for you when you needed her. She spent little money on herself, but she was very generous to others; especially to her family. She liked to be independent and refused to be a burden to anybody, but she was always the first one to volunteer when there was a need.

Veronica was a very special lady … well- loved and will be sorely missed here on earth … but is presently rejoicing in Heaven with God in her new body … no more sickness, no more pain.

Preceded in death by her husband (Arturo Monastrial), her son (Wilson Monastrial), her father (Hermogenes Aseoche), her mother (Toribia Afurong), and her brother (Virgilio Aseoche).

Survivors:

Son  (Nelson Monastrial), Daughters (Raquel Monastrial, Grace Summers, and Marivic Sanchez)

10 Grand children, 1 great-grand daughter, and many in-laws, cousins, nephews, and nieces.
