Steve Hudson had 3 brothers and 5 sisters, the brothers are David C. Hudson, Kevin M. Hudson, and James R. Hudson in the Renton and Des Moines Wa. area. His sisters are Linda (Hudson) Vacchiery of Seattle, Susan (Hudson) Pietrowski of Bellevue, Janet (Hudson) Richards (now deceased), Rita D. (Hudson) Johnson of Seattle, and Carol (Hudson) Grady of Lynnwood. He had many nieces and nephews, and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Stephen worked around cars most of his life, repairing them, towing them, painting them, helping to race them at Seattle International Raceway. He did short jobs at Host International, Boeing, and working at a salmon cannery in Alaska. It was in Alaska that he chased a bear that was on a pier cutting him off from land, and as the bear turned and ran it finally realized he was bigger than Steve and only spooked. Meanwhile, Steve escaped. Steve also alerted and broke down a door at a bunkhouse that was on fire while people were sleeping inside, saving some lives.
He was always a physical person, in pursuit of football, track (1/2 miler) , wrestling, and karate (brown belt). In high school, he set a goal of walking the distance around Lake Washington with his friend Randy, and once swam alone to Mercer Island and back from Seattle. He had an inner-tube, and rested on his back when he was tired, but he was stopped just short of the shore on the way by authorities concerned by his method and plan.
Steve expressed his gratitude for his doctors, nurses, and the staff at Heritage House at the Market, and all the other people who were kind to him, bless you all!
He will be missed.
